Reflection on teaching

 As a part of two year B.Ed curriculum, there was a teaching practice section. Unfortunately, as there was no respite from novel coronavirus, we were asked to do teaching practice in two sections - third semester and fourth semester. 

In Third semester we were asked to teach 10 online class and 10 peer class. I get an opportunity to take class at Marthoma girls high school, Kottarakkara. I selected the unit 'Decimal forms' and teach them also conduct a diagnostic test and achievement test.

  In fourth semester, we were asked to take 15 online class and 15 peer class. The first section was online teaching for school students. I get an opportunity to take class at Marthoma girls high school, Kottarakkara. I selected the units 'Identities' and also conduct a diagnostic test and achievement test. The students are active and interactive. They help me to transact the content easily. Students asked doubt and they give immediate responses. This helps me to improve my confidence, teaching, and content knowledge. In the peer teaching section, I selected the unit 'Money math' and 'Arithmetic sequence'.The peer teaching was two sections- online and offline. There were 10 classes online and 5 classes offline. In these five classes, I experienced the real teaching. In these classes, I can use learning aids such as activity cards, chat, models,... It was a nice experience. 

 From the teaching practice, I got not only content knowledge but also technological knowledge. Network issue was the only problem faced in the online teaching practice. Otherwise, it was nice and it helps to improve quality of teaching.

Community Living Camp- EXPLORE 2021

Our college and the union together planned to organize a community living camp as per our syllabus. It was from the 15th to the 19th of February. The notice of the camp is given below.  On the first day, we planned everything for the camp. We have selected the theme as "EXPLORE THE ENDURANCE". We have selected a Teacher co-ordinator. It was Dr.Leena Vahid and Dr.K R Sivapriya. Then we have selected two student representatives, Jebin and Arya. Then we have divided the whole class into 3 houses and also different committees for proper working. The duties and management for each day were given to each house. All the students were active and they have come up with creative and innovative ideas every day and put a lot of effort to make the camp beautiful.  We begin our camp by flag hoisting with marchpast of all the house. Then Municipal chairman Sri. A Shaju inaugurated our camp. Our principal Sri. G Roy gave a presidential address and a keynote address by Very Rev. Fr. Zachariah

Workshop on music

As part of our third-semester art education, a musical workshop was conducted on 03/11/2020 Tuesday. This session was led by Dr. Thottam Bhuvanendran Nair. The main focus of the event was on how important music in education. The class has two sections. At first our he gave a detailed description of music and how it can be applied in teaching. It was a very interesting class. He presented many poems and songs in front of us during the class. In the second section was each option is divided into eleven groups. We, students of each group, written and composed a song related to our subject. We prepared a song about the topic ‘SOLIDS'. We give OTTAMTHULLAL tune for it. Our group members are Devanand G.R, Jyothis Eapen, Shani Shaji, Ansu Babu, and Liji Joseph.  It was an informative and interesting session.
